Yacht construction contracts
: we have a proven record representing ship owners in the negotiation and completion of construction projects for yachts of around 25 metres and over. We guide our clients through the ins and outs of each stage and milestone of their project. We deal with yacht builders in Northern Europe, Italy, New-Zealand and the United States of America. We also exchange with marine surveyors, yacht designers and other professionals involved in the project.

 

Sale and purchase: we accompany our clients from the preparation and negotiation of the documentation and pre-buy process for second-hand yachts through to completion of the sale. Our aim is to extract the best value from the sale and purchase contract (the most widely used being the MYBA sale and purchase agreement form) and, when acting for buyers, the yachts new ownership structure.

 

Financing: we value our established relationship with major private wealth banks that participate in the pre-delivery and post-delivery financing of new yachts and superyachts. We also accompany our clients in the restructuring of existing financings. We have developed a solid contractual loan documentation fine-tuned to the particularities of the yachting industry. This expertise is also a big plus when representing the interests of clients on the borrowing side.

 

Operational: we advise our clients on the most appropriate way to structure the ownership and management of their superyachts. This requires a close look at VAT, customs, flagging and other regulatory aspects that are key to the deal. We also advise our clients on operational aspects such as crewing arrangement and chartering (if commercial use) and their relationship with yacht managers and other professionals involved in a yacht’s day-to-day.

Refit
: our team acts for yacht owners in their refit projects. This can consist of a general refurbishment of the yacht and, in other cases, include the fitting out of the interiors and exteriors of a ready-built hull and superstructure.
